Located in Tanzania’s Kilombero Valley, the Kokoa Kamili cooperative is redefining what ethical, high-quality cacao looks like. By sourcing from small family farms (averaging just a half-acre to two acres) and paying farmers a guaranteed premium price, Kokoa Kamili directly supports local communities while producing some of the finest cacao in the world. After harvest, the beans are meticulously fermented in traditional banana leaf-lined boxes and sun-dried under careful monitoring. To date, the Kokoa Kamili project has donated over 100,000 cacao seedlings to local farmers, schools, and orphanages—cultivating sustainable, long-term income and growth for thousands of families in Tanzania. Meditative and heart-opening, this cacao has notes of cherry, lemon and cinnamon.
